Lykke Li may have been too exhausted to perform at this years' Laneway Festival (*sad face*), but she did have enough energy to wander around a house in Gucci's new short film.
In the clip, released today via Nowness, Lykke Li hangs out and plays guitar in an elaborately decorated house, shops for records and walks the streets at night, all while clad in bohemian pieces by Gucci.
It's a little contrived (and reminds us Lizzy Caplan's fashion film a lot), but you know, Lykke Li is beautiful as well as an awesome musician (the film is tracked to Just Like A Dream from her 2014 album, I Never Learn), so this is just a nice, peaceful thing to watch, which you can do below, or over at Nowness.
This video seems to be part of an overhaul for Gucci, who recently replaced their creative director and CEO, Frida Giannini and Patrizio di Marco, with Alessandro Michele and Marco Bizzari respectively. The first official collection with Alessandro Michele at the helm was presented at Milan Fashion Week last week, and cemented the about-turn for the brand: a group of bookish, bohemian nerds clad in spectacles and berets made their way down the runway instead of the vampish sex sirens that have been synonymous with the brand until now. Lykke Li fits into this shift nicely, then.
