British "journalist" and awful human being Katie Hopkins made a bunch of derogatory comments about Kelly Clarkson's weight on Twitter recently. You know what Kelly Clarkson did in response? Absolutely fucking nothing. Brilliant.
Hopkins tweets were harsh, too:
"Jesus, what happened to Kelly Clarkson? Did she eat all of her backing singers? Happily I have wide-screen."
"Look chubsters, Kelly Clarkson had a baby a year ago. That is no longer baby weight. That is carrot cake weight. Get over yourselves."
Kelly Clarkson responded to all of this unnecessary bitchiness in the best possible way: by doing absolutely nothing and giving zero fucks. In a recent interview with Heat magazine, she responded to a question about Hopkins' tweets with:
"I don't have a clue what you're talking about."
"Oh, and she's tweeted something nasty about me? That's because she doesn't know me. I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me. It's a free world. Say what you will."
We shouldn't be that surprised: Kelly Clarkson did write the most empowering song to have ever come from American Idol, Since U Been Gone, after all, and we'll be singing it at karaoke long after Hopkins has returned to the pit of hell-fire from whence she came.
