Miley Cyrus has written a letter to NYC Governor, Andrew Cuomo, in which she demands he spend $4.75 million building 1, 000 beds for youth without shelter, and has posted a copy of the letter to her Instagram account.
In the letter she states that, "1.6 million kids across the United States are homeless, and the problem is especially serious in New York. Between 2009 and 2012, the number of kids turned away from homeless shelters in New York grew from 570 to more than 5, 000".
In September last year Miley Cyrus formed the Happy Hippy Foundation in order to ( according the organisation's Facebook page) "fight injustice, starting with youth homelessness".
