Iris Apfel, American business woman, interior designer and fashion icon needs no introduction, but here's a little background anyway (because it's incredible). Professionally, she worked for Women's Wear Daily before launching one of America's most successful textile companies with her husband, responsible for restoring the interior of the White House under several presidents. Personally, she's sassy-as-hell and has the personal style, including her iconic ginormous round glasses, to prove it.
A documentary about the 93 year-old, directed by the late filmmaker Albert Maysles will be released on 29th April. The film follows Iris through her life, including this one time she met Kanye West backstage at the CFDA Awards, which is a part of the documentary that has leaked online. West proceeded to fan-out to her, she responded in the sassiest way ever:
If you missed it, that's Kanye saying "You look so good tonight", followed by Iris saying, "My goodness, a compliment from a handsome young fella".
Here's the trailer for the documentary, in which, among other things, she stops her husband from spilling the beans about the problems they had with Jacqueline Kennedy, and explains why she'd rather wear a bracelet that costs "$4 and change" than expensive jewellery. Bless.
