Actor and self-proclaimed performance artist, Shia LaBeouf, is at SXSW this week doing another confusing thing in the name of art.
For the project called, #FOLLOWMYHEART, LaBeouf is broadcasting his heartbeat out across the Internet, here. He has teamed up with Dazed and Confused as well as Luke Turner and Nastja Säde Rönkkö, who he collaborated with on #IAMSORRY, because it apparently takes three people and one major culture publication to get something like this off the ground.
The three aritsts had this to say about #FOLLOWMYHEART: "When people say, 'listen to your heart,' they are urging us to tune in to the loving side of our selves; the imaginative, the intuitive, the compassionate, the inner wisdom we all possess. They are telling us to listen to our passion."
Ohhh, so they're, like, juxtaposing the metaphorical meaning of the phrase with the literal meaning of the phrase to imbue meta meaning into the phrase. Or something.
