Last year, the Sony email hack revealed that Jennifer Lawrence earns less than her male co-stars in films, even though she was 2014's highest grossing actress. On the flipside there was Charlize Theron, who negotiated pay equal to her male co-stars, and Patricia Arquette, who used her acceptance speech at the Academy Awards to declare pay equality for women everywhere.
Now The Hollywood Reporter have investigated, and revealed the highest paid actors in Hollywood in their April 10th, 2015 issue.
The magazine interviewed a myriad producers, agents and executives to determine that only six actors earn more than $20 million per film: Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr, Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock and Angelina Jolie. Four men, two women.
They also determined a secondary category, comprising those actors who earned around the $15 million mark, which, let's face it, is nothing to smirk at. The men who earn around $15 million per film include Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck, Channing Tatum and Dwayne Johnson. The women who earn around $15 million include Melissa McCarthy and Jennifer Lawrence.
