Lena Dunham may play a floundering, self-doubting-but-ultimately-narcissistic twenty-something on her show Girls, but get ready for her to step into the probably pointed, probably patent leather pumps of some kind of 100% together, stone cold bitch.
According to EW.com and E!, Dunham will appear on Scandal this season, and if you're not familiar with Scandal, it's exactly what you think it would be: a soap-y drama, created by Shonda Rhimes, in which Olivia Pope, former media consultant to the president goes about her working life as a heartless professional, interacting with other heartless professionals –> mayhem ensues. It's brilliant.
Lena Dunham has already called appearing on Scandal her "life's greatest passion", so these rumours are probably a thing that will happen. Furthermore, she's said she wants to play a senator "who did something wrong". Let's take a moment to imagine how awkward sex scenes x Washington power struggles could combine. Probably very well indeed.
