Georgia Alice, Lucy McIntosh and Sly Guild have been announced as the three finalists in the 2014 NZ DHL Fashion Scholarship.
The DHL Fashion Scholarship was initiated to help young New Zealand designers expand their distribution into overseas markets, and the prize includes $10, 000NZD worth of international freight, mentoring about international logistics and freight from DHL, and a mentoring package from Fashion Industry New Zealand (FINZ).
The scholarship has become renowned as an early indicator of success, as past winners have included Lonely Hearts, Stolen Girlfriends Club, Twenty-seven names, and I Love Ugly, whose phenomenal growth has just included the opening of their first store in Los Angeles.
There's a bunch of hungry young up-and-coming New Zealand designers, including – but not limited to! – Penny Sage, Eugenie and Glen Prentice – and you can check them all out as part of the Marr Factory's Gatecrasher show, which took place in the week before New Zealand Fashion Week, earlier this year.
The winner of the 2014 DHL Fashion Scholarship will be announced on November 12th.
