There are long periods of time when I feel totally fine about living in the Southern Hemisphere, what with our temperate climate and relaxed attitudes to everything. Then there are moments of FOMO so profound that I want to jump on the next plane and hot-foot it to either London or New York – I'm not fussy.
Enter Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty exhibition, which sold out at MoMA in New York and has just opened at the Victoria & Albert museum in London. The opening night gala dinner was held on March 12th, and FKA twigs, who is gaining recognition for her fashion choices as well as for her music, performed. She wore an archive Alexander McQueen piece, inspired by the Bird of Paradise. Unsurprisingly, she looked phenomenal:
