Women have been showing up on the men's fashion week runways for a few seasons now. Sometimes, as with Prada's autumn-winter 2015 show, they're wearing women's pieces, but for the most part they're dressed in menswear; suiting, coats, tailored pants.
We started this round-up by checking out the outfits the female models were wearing, but you know, why restrict ourselves? From Gucci's pussy bow blouses (apparently this collection was put together in 10 days after former creative director, Frida Giannini, left the company a month earlier than scheduled), to that chunky, mustard yellow knit at Missoni, if guys can wear it, we can too. And we shall!
There is a distinct '90s vibe running through all of these collections. Trousers are worn relaxed, low and paired with white sneakers; coats are long and in black leather; jumpers are scruffy, oversize, and layered with longer, scruffier t-shirts. This season reminds me of what would happen if Marilyn Manson added just a hint of '70s flair into his wardrobe, and can I just say what a delightful thing that would be indeed.
