Cocurata is the brainchild of George Gorrow, co-founder of Ksubi, and George Benias, a New York-based curator.
Cocurata emphasises their intention to keep the artist at the centre of the business model and design. Gorrow and Benias aimed to create pieces that would be equally at home in a gallery as they would be in a fashion boutique.
Cocurata's inaugural collection, Extraction, launches into stores in November and includes high end street pieces for men and women, which incorporate direct extractions from the aforementioned artists' work.
An exhibition, Abstraction, will follow the release of the clothing range this December. The exhibition will feature work from the Dearraindrop collective.
It's more than an art x fashion collaboration, but it takes the form of an art x fashion collaboration? We're looking forward to seeing how Cocurata plays out. In the mean time, check out their summer 2014-15 range.
