In nature Mimicry describes the action where an animal mimics something in order to protect itself: the milk snake mimics the deadly coral snake, and 'mimic octopi' mimic all of the deadly creatures (and are amazing). The term has been appropriated by designers when describing the transportation of natural phenomenon into their work, usually in architecture, spacial and industrial design. 

For their resort 2014-15 collection, Camilla and Marc have used aerodynamic, ultra-light fabrics to mimic the fluidity and aerodynamic nature of birds, as you can see in their Bec Parsons-photographed campaign, released this week to coincide with the launch of this collection into stores. Like Anthony and the Johnsons said, I  a bird now, and as Nelly Furtado (somewhat less credibly) said, I am like a bird.
